Like the perfect picture frame, these solid wood TV stands provide a warm, serene setting for your LCD or Plasma TV. Designed to hide what detracts, they have ample storage for all your components, speakers, and DVDs.
The Lattice TV Console, featured left, is one of the most popular TV stands. The lattice doors hide components much better then glass, but still allow a remote control to function.
The pair of drawers add extra storage and are perfectly sized for DVDs.

Savanna Wood South Africa

Savanna Wood South Africa
The wildness and beauty of the African bush growing on the deep and ancient sands of the Kalahari veldt belies the savagely harsh conditions under which diverse species of flora manage to prosper and grow. To survive these adverse conditions requires a resilience and toughness unknown in other species. One of the hardest and most durable of these African hardwood trees, Baikiaea plurijuga, a.k.a. Zambezi Teak, is amongst the most beautiful timbers in the world, with a fine, close grain and deep, rich natural colour.
Zambezi Teak is the finest, hardest, furniture wood available. Twice the density, and therefore weight, of traditional Asian Teak, and with a stunningly beautiful, deep, rich, grain. Each piece we make is uniquely handcrafted to last many generations.

Pierre Cronje Furniture
Pierre Cronje personally selects a variety of timbers that he chooses to manufacture his customised hand crafted furniture. Among the many woods that he works with are: Mahogany, Ash, French Oak, Cedar and Yellowwood
A master craftsman (sometimes called only master or grandmaster) was a member of a guild. In the European guild system, only master craftsmen were allowed to be members of the guild.
An aspiring master would have to pass through the career chain from apprentice to journeyman before he could be elected to become a master craftsman. He would then have to produce a sum of money and a masterpiece before he could actually join the guild. If the masterpiece was not accepted by the masters, he was not allowed to join the guild, possibly remaining a journeyman for the rest of his life. Becoming a master was often very hard
Since 1987 the Pierre Cronje Factory has made superior antique reproduction furniture and custom pieces using finely selected solid woods. We hope that you find the site informative and easy to use. Any comments or questions should be directed to info@pierrecronje.co.za
Pierre Cronje De Waterkant will be closing temporarily.

EMBERS Handcrafted Furniture

EMBERS Handcrafted Furniture
Did I choose wood or did wood choose me – with a name like EMBER its hard to know for sure, although my parents insist that my name is taken from the time of my birth, December, and has nothing to do with glowing log fires. Either way I have had a life long interest in, and love of wood in all its forms. By the time I was
3 I had my own small saw and hammer and was dedicated apprentice to my dad, “Martin the Mend”, learning practical skills which were to become the foundation of my trade. Always adventurous I moved from climbing trees to being inspired by them. I hope the images on my website illustrade my skill in the medium and inspire you to commission an “EMBERS” original of your own.

Wetherlys – Living the lifestyle
Wetherlys is a well-established brand and is an acknowledged trendsetter in the design of innovative quality furniture and accessories.
The secret of success of Wetherlys has been a unique balance between a combination of imported and locally manufactured products, with the emphasis on exclusivity. The exclusive nature of the product has been achieved through carefully selected imports, as well as exclusive furniture ranges, which are manufactured both through the Roodefurn Manufacturing operations, as well as through the sourcing of exclusive products via selected local manufacturers.
Roodefurn Manufacturing form part of the Wetherlys group. Roodefurn has been a leading manufacturer of high quality furniture since 1979. Over the years, Roodefurn has grown to two factories totaling some 17′000 square meters, employing state of the art machinery, to facilitate high production output and efficient service. This affords flexibility of production capacity for both bulk and contract furnishings, whilst still being able to service the domestic market on a personal basis.
On the decorating side, the ambience, look and feel of the Wetherlys decorating warehouse, is comparable to international standards. The merchandise offering has numerous new ranges and Wetherlys is continually identifying the latest product lines. The business model provides the discerning customer with the opportunity of having goods manufactured to their own specification with a wide range of fabrics and finishes to choose from. The Wetherlys past strategy of destination stores is still strong and viable, with the inclusion of more centrally located, smaller stores in smaller centres offering clientele the same exposure to the decorating warehouse look and feel.
Wetherlys buyers have traveled extensively to obtain new ideas, keeping their creative flair and ability to introduce new trends to South Africa earlier than in the past.
Wetherlys has reached new heights in its market presentation of product mix and product offerings to the public in its niche market by utilizing various catalogues showcasing our exciting product ranges. With the opportunity of launching a new look and various ranges, a decorator’s card was launched within our extensive decorating clientele, which has been well received by the decorating fraternity. This will remain a focus of management to continuously build a reliable and interactive relationship with our decorators.
Management is confident that further expansion in selected prime areas in South Africa will contribute to greater market share for 2009.
